From Jennifer Kyrnin, your Guide to Web Design / HTML
If you are considering becoming a professional Web designer, it can help you make up your mind if you know what the job entails. So I've created a new section on my site asking for your stories about what it's like to work as a Web designer. I'm looking for all different types of designers - if you work at a company or you work for yourself - if you've just started or you've been doing it for years, I'd love to hear your story. And I know a lot of new designers would love to know what it's like as well. Plus, this week I cover some of the new features of CSS3 and how to go about reporting an error (on this site or any other) so that it gets fixed quickly. And this week's poll is about PDFs. What's It Like Working as a Web Designer?
Working as a Web designer has as many different permutations as there are people doing the work. For instance, I started as a Web copy writer and only got into design and development after I'd written content for hundreds of Web pages. What is working as a Web designer like for you? Getting Started with CSS3
CSS3 offers a huge number of changes to the CSS specification. A lot of them are really exciting like the columns support and changes to borders and backgrounds. Others are less spectacular, but still helpful and interesting like the new CSS selectors to let you choose the precise parts of your pages to style.

How to Report an Error on a Website
While the first thing you need to do is find the contact page, but once you've found it, there are some things you can do to make sure your error report isn't ignored or set aside for "later". Web designers are human and we all make mistakes, and most of us really appreciate it when people take the time to tell us about problems. But not when it takes longer to find, figure out, and fix the problem than it did to build the page in the first place.

Poll: Do you Use Acrobat (PDF) files on your websites?
Acrobat or PDF files are a great way to take printed documents and make them available on your website with very little work. Most word processors even include a "save as PDF" or "print to PDF" option. So, it might seem like a simple way to get content onto your website. Vote Now View Results
